I feel like I need to rejuvenate my blog a little. Add some spice. Or posts. Posts would be nice. I’ve been “missing” because I have a life that doesn’t involve me blogging much as of late. If only I had some incentive to do so…like some wealthy investor who wants a single mom’s blog posts of her musings and son’s athletic exploits to reach the world over. That would be cool. Just thought I would throw that out there in case that person may be reading this post right now…

I have to tell you about my latest things I love (besides Caden; he’s an obvious love and I will blog about him forever). No, these items are just fun and frivolous things that tickle me pink and give me the warm fuzzies.

I was thinking a couple of months ago that I wanted to find a new fragrance to start mixing up in my perfume repertoire. I typically wear Oiseau’s “The Charmer” or Quelque Fleurs, but I was looking for something new. And I found it in the Fall Nordstrom catalog that arrived in late July. They had a sample scratch n’ sniff for a new fragrance from Coach—Poppy. Ooooo, I loved the smell! So I put it down on my birthday list.

I went to Nordstrom’s website to see how much it was (in case it was ridiculously expensive…then I would start trolling ebay for samples instead) and found myself pulled into looking at shoes. I can’t help it. It’s a disease. I think there should probably be a support group for shoe lovers who are constantly on the prowl for a new pair of pretties.

Anyhow, I found these darling Miz Mooz Mary Janes that I seriously could not get over. They were a cheery yellow and I have this thing for yellow shoes. I don’t know why…maybe it’s because yellow makes me think of happy things and doesn’t everybody want happy feet? So I added those to my list.

My birthday came and I headed down to Fashion Place to see if I could claim my newest wardrobe accessories. They were all out of Poppy in the store in SLC but had almost 150 bottles down in Orem. (Hmmm…who is the purchaser for this store?) The super nice sales lady just said, “Don’t worry about it! We’ll ship it free to your house for you.” Sounded good to me so four clicks of my debit card later and that little gift was headed home.

On to the shoe department, with its circular tables of multi-colored suede, stitched leather, and eager sales people ready to bedeck a bunch of smelly feet with costly ware. I found the shoes I saw online but sadly, they didn’t have the yellow in store. Instead they had something better: VIOLET! My favorite color is purple which makes me happy just as much as the color yellow. End result? Still getting happy feet.

So there you go. My birthday spending spree documented for…some odd reason. Ah well, maybe you might like the perfume and shoes too?

Hi, Angie. Love your blog and the chance to keep up with you, Caden, and Maggie. Please give me a call or send me an e-mail—I have neither your phone number nor your e-mail address (after all these years . . .)!
